execution of live and recorded film-style and multi-camera production

Goals include introduction of high definition production services
to mainstream television broadcast, feature film production, commercial
production and corporate presentation industries.

supervision. Services involve preparation and execution of high
definition television multi-camera field production for various
markets. Recent productions include pay-per-view productions of

documentary field production of NASA STS-72 shuttle launch. Primary

support to Chairman of NSTS Television Working Group in coordinating
mission and long range television planning for National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (NASA) Space Shuttle operations. Some
real-time support, including travel, involved interfaces to non-NASA
and non-US organizations involved in NSTS mission activities.
1125 PRODUCTIONS, New York, NY -
Chief Engineer in charge of operations and maintenance of high
definition television production facility. Supervised equipment
and personnel in support of film-style production operations.
Coordinated standards conversion support and on-line conform of
CBS made-for-TV movie and functioned as HDTV technical producer
(location and post production) of HBO comedy pilot. Planned and
executed numerous equipment demonstrations for clients interested
in comparing HDTV and NTSC systems. Planned and executed high
definition television remote coverage of HBO boxing and Imagica
(of Japan) documentary in western Canada.
HD STUDIOS DALLAS, Dallas, TX -
Chief Engineer in charge of design and operations planning for
high definition television production facility. Completed equipment
procurement and personnel operations plan. Funding problems halted
implementation.
POYNTON VECTOR CORPORATION (PVC), Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA -
Production of technical manual including system level, unit level,
and module level description, operations and maintenance information
for NASA Video Processing System (VPS). VPS is a real-time digital
video system capable of converting Space Shuttle "field-sequential"
video into broadcast-quality color (NTSC) television, under computer-assisted
operator control. Services also included maintenance and sustaining
engineering of VPS hardware and software for PVC under sub-contract
to prime NASA television contractor.

McDONNELL DOUGLAS TECHNICAL SERVICES CO., INC., Houston, TX -
(Former NASA contractors for services now provided by Rockwell
International.) My work was identical to that later performed
for RI.
NASA HEADQUARTERS, Washington, DC -
Baseline analysis of building modifications required to support
a broadcast quality television studio in Federal Office Building
6 (FB6) and subsequent functional design of the studio and control
room area including delivery of equipment and personnel requirements
and operational scenario.
TAFT BROADCASTING CORPORATION, Houston, TX -
Long-range planning support for NASA contract operations, including
analysis of multi-mission STS support requirements and integrated
data management requirements.
SPACE TELESCOPE SCIENCE INSTITUTE (STScI), Baltimore, MD -
Analysis and definition of television needs for media interface
to image processing system at STScI. Involved integration of Public
Affairs and Program requirements, definition of custom hardware
and software requirements, specification of commercial hardware,
and synthesis of operational plans from similar past missions
at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and from existing science investigation
scenarios.
