Remote Engineer-In-Charge of broadcast television productions.
Responsible to the Director of Operations for the technical quality of all
outside-broadcast operations for HSE-Houston, a sports television programming
service. Functioned as the sole HSE representative on most events and coordinated
the interfacing of several subcontractor organizations including production
companies, common carriers, host facilities, and independent personnel.
Duties included evaluation of personnel qualifications and performance and
equipment suitability and performance. Personally supervised over 100 live
and videotaped remote productions and sub-contracted engineers to supervise
others. Position required knowledge of broadcast configuration techniques
and technical requirements of video and audio origination and transmission
equipment.

Duties included supervision of 20-30 technical and operational personnel
involved in support of training, testing and mission operations.

Duties included design, development, installation, supervision, and documentation
of new television systems and modifications to existing systems. Designed
and supervised installation of systems which support ground processing and
distribution of NASA Select Television at JSC. Interfaced with other contractors
and NASA personnel and assisted in compilation of data for STS television
plan documents.
Participated in planning and supervised implementation of television systems
which supported Space Shuttle landings at Edwards AFB in California and
Northrup Strip in New Mexico. Functioned as technical supervisor for television
operations during Shuttle Approach and Landing Tests at Edwards and STS
operations at Northrup Strip.
